14 levels to go for mine. Which'll be nice and fast compared to 43 to 50, which my scrapper has yet to complete. :-p
It was insane how fast it went. And it wasn't like I was PLing or grinding or anything. I was just running quests and killing things and helping folks with stuff and doing the occasional soloing of a low-level instance when I wanted to feel uber. It was great. :)
And I did my first UBRS run last night. Discovered that I can't tank Drakk in bearform while wearing healbot gear. Though I have every intention of gearing up and being able to tank Drakk in bearform at some point. :) It'll just take a little while. *grin*
All my gear is tank gear. Except my neck piece. :-p My guild has NO TANKS. Well, none over level 24. :-p Totally Feral tank/cat build (thinking of blowing 1g on respec to go pure beartank) and a stupidly huge AC for level 46 (Warden Staff... tasty Warden Staff... I think my AC is 4300+ in dire bear form).
I solo'd the Deadmines the other day. That was fun. And 10g worth of AH fodder.
****covet**** ZOMG, I want want want want want Warden Staff.
Dearghod, and you're 14 levels below me with 4300+ armor? *cries* I've got 5600 in bear form at 60 if I'm in my feral gear. I really need to get a set of armor that's specifically bear gear. And I've started soloing Roccor in BRD because, damnit, he has to give me my Idol of Ferocity and the formula for Smoking Heart of the Mountain so I can dump herbalism for long enough to level enchanting to 265 so I can make the trinket.
Was talking to a friend of mine this weekend and he boggled at how low my AC was at my level. His totally feral-specc'd druid has 14k armor in dire bear. I about fainted.
I'm feral/resto specc'd. Geared mostly for cat. (23+% chance to crit. Meow.) But with the healbot gear I've got now, I've got +150 to healing, and while I can't tank Drakk (yet), I can tank some of the other elites in UBRS. I pulled them off of the other druid more than once last night and soloed them down to about a quarter before someone else came over and got them off of me.
I've been planning and plotting what I need to do, gear-wise, for bear-tank. Volcanic (with stat enchants), here I come. >.>
My guildleader/co-worker gave me the staff when I said I was definitely sticking around in WoW. I was 36 or so at the time. Couldn't wait to hit 43 and equip it! Now I'm just trying to get the mats for the +25 AGI enchant on it.
My Spec is split between cat/bear, and my crit chance is... 21 or 22% or so. Leader of the Pack is fun. ^_^ My stat focus on my armor is AC, Agi, Str, and Sta. Being a Leatherworker has helped a LOT for this. I just made Wild Leather Shoulders of Agility that gave me 14 Agility. O_O At my level, Nightscape is also good since it's all Agi/Sta gear. Which means I look for STR on my dropped gear.
Technically, my spec isn't "pure" Feral, but it's cookie-cutter Feral. 31 points in Feral, 5 points in Resto (for Furor), and now dumping points in Balance to get Natural Weaponry and Omen of Clarity. I'll probably put more points to cap out Thick Hide. I can't heal for crap, but I can tank and DPS with the best of them. ^_^
Aaaand as an update, because I love scaring my guildmates to death with my AC reports and they had a complete WTF??? moment, at 53 my self-buffed bearform AC is 6300+ now.
^_^ I got a Warden Staff. Saw one for 110g (after telling myself, "If I see it for less than 150g, I'll get it") when I was on my little tailor alt (er, my priest). Now (that I'm home after a week away for Worldcon and disneyland!) I'm after mats for +25 agi on it.
I'm waffling about swapping my spec around to get Natural Weaponry, Omen of Clarity, and Natural Shifter. I'm just torn about pulling all five points out of Imp MotW.
I've been off-tanking in MC lately! And with the Warden Staff, I'm sitting around 8300 armor in bear. Next stop, grinding enchanting for my Smoking Heart of the Wild, and checking to see if my friend has sent me my Volcanic and my Guardian Cloak while I was away. ^_^
And Domo's Box has some *awesome* bear shoulders that I keep wanting to see drop again after the first time they dropped and the assumption from the Raid Leader who was handling loot that a druid wouldn't want them. <.>
Yeah, I'm trying to save up for that +25 AGI enchant, too, but since I'm still actually levelling and thus buying new spells and skills... er... yeah...
Natural Weaponry is nice. I'm thinking of skipping OOC, and I don't have plans for Natural Shapeshifter yet. It may yet happen. (Did I spend my talent point when I dinged 53? I don't remember now...)
In all honesty, though, if you're going for a feral/resto hybrid, just stay far far away from the balance tree. It just eats up too many slots to get the good talents for Feral use. Since I'm going "fully feral" it's worth it, but if I were going hybrid I'd just run the other way.
I had that same "Did I spend talent points when I dinged?" thing way too often. I'd be halfway through a level and looking to check something and go "Oh, oops, I guess I should put this somewhere!"
The problem I have right now with my feral/resto spec is that all of the resto druids in my guild don't necessarily out-heal me, but they've got one of the improved heal talents in the resto tree so even though I've got 3 points in Imp Rejuv, I see "A more powerful spell is already active" way way too often (even though I've got more +heal gear in my healbot kit than they do and can out-heal them as far as Rejuvs go if one doesn't take Swiftmend into consideration). So I'm tempted to just say screw it and go full feral. I mean, I'm off-tanking in MC. I did one UBRS run where I was off-tank and DPS and ended up tanking Drakk when one of our warriors went down (for the second time after my battle rez) and the other got conflagged and lost aggro. Hell, I've got more armor than some of our warriors who are off-tanking in MC.
The hardest thing for me to give up, though, from Resto is the added armor from Imp MotW. As far as Balance goes, I want Natural Shifter because I do shift a lot, even when I'm off-tanking in MC. So having the lower mana would be realllly nice. Especially if I have to shift out to toss a battle rez, throw an innervate on one of the priests, then drop back into bear. *shrug* At this point, I pretty much figure, I may as well go all the way with the Feral because I'm throwing around fewer Rejuvs and having Imp Rejuv doesn't help the heal-power on my Healing Touches (which is what I wind up tossing around. HT rank 4 again and again. I think I could do that forever in my healgear if I needed to.).
Hmm. See, that's where things get tricky. My problem is that I have no room in my fully feral build for Imp MotW. Furor is just much too useful to drop when fully feral. I could shuffle things around or drop a couple feral talents to pick it up, but then I'd lose my cat form boosts which I use extensively when soloing. My build as of level 52, haven't updated RPGO yet
I'm considering this
as a final build. If I respec, I could drop the random point in Feline Swiftness for OoC, but I'm already in overly expensive respec land, so I'll have to pass on that one for now.
Yeah. I can't stomach the thought of giving up Furor. Heck, even if I were full resto, I'm not sure I could stomach the thought of not putting 5 points into Furor; it's far far far too useful to have that rage/energy right when you shift. I have people asking, "When are you going into bear form?" when we're getting ready for boss fights in MC and I have to tell them, "About when the puller hits 4 on the countdown. So I've got a starter-shot of Rage to charge and peel my target off of the person pulling it." Down potions between 6 and 4, shift at 4, charge when the pull happens. ^_^
I've only respecc'd once so far, so my respec shouldn't be too spendy even though I'm 60. I'm thinking about this: http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=zzLVhoZxoxscrdtq
... but I'm having such a wretched time shuffling points around. I want more points in Feral Instinct, but I also want more points in Imp MotW purely for selfish reasons (I don't care how well I'm buffing the rest of the raid as much as I care about the armor and stat buff I'm
getting from it). So I may very well end up not putting those three points into Natural Shapeshifter (as useful as it would be for me to have them), and putting them into either Feral Instinct or Imp MotW.
Imp Bash isn't as important to me now as it was when I was levelling, so I don't feel awful about dumping that. That extra 1 second sometimes meant the difference between geting a heal off and getting wtfpwnt when Bash was only stunning for 2 seconds. 4 seconds is enough for me to shift out, get off a Regrowth and Rejuv and then shift back to bear no problem (unless it is resisted). The real tough choice for me now is Natural Shifter/Feral Instinct/Imp MotW (and only getting 4 points, tops, in those last two).
I see that World of WalkCraft is infested with the dreaded GAMMA disease just like City of Crack.
